Reaching a 10-year milestone is quite an achievement these days. It's a two-way partnership and we feel very proud that many of our staff are invested into what we do. We recently celebrated 10 years of dedication from Financial Controller, Kirsten Campbell, who joined us in 2015.

Kirsten joined the business as a part-time Finance Assistant. From day one, she demonstrated exceptional diligence and strong work ethic. Within three months, her impact earned her a well-deserved promotion to Financial Controller, and now she is a valued part of the management team at AS Mosley.

Commenting on Kirsten’s journey, Andrew Mosley, Director at AS Mosley, said: “We have a growing team of long service employees and Kirsten’s loyalty, enthusiasm and commitment make her a very welcome member. She has transformed the financial structure of the company and created a wealth of tools to promote the commercial health of the business. Kirsten has demonstrated excellent multidisciplinary skills and can turn her hand to many different tasks and challenges. She is a key employee and a highly valued member of the senior management team. Well done Kirsten, and thank you for your dedication and hard work. We very much look forward to working with you over the next ten years!”

Kirsten was presented with an Award from AS Mosley at a team lunch in October. Her thoughts on AS Mosley are captured below:

Kirsten Campbell: Q&A

Do you work full time/part time? 80% (4 days a week)

What do you enjoy most about your work? I enjoy how varied it is; I always have. When you work in a small company you have to take on tasks and projects that would never hit your desk in a larger organisation. There is never a dull moment, and always an opportunity to contribute.

What’s one highlight from your time with AS Mosley? Working with talented people who all bring something different to the table and learning from each other as we go.

What have been the ups and downs? The ups are for sure the people I’ve met, and the opportunity to grow professionally. The downs, the cyclical nature of the industry has brought difficult times over the years.

What keeps you motivated at AS Mosley? I am motivated to stay with the company because I have the best of both worlds at AS Mosley, I get to exercise the financial side of my career and also be a contributor to business decision-making.

Who has influenced or supported you most during your time with AS Mosley? Andrew [Mosley]. He has always challenged me to push beyond my comfort zone and supported me over the years.

What advice would you give someone starting their career with AS Mosley? Contribute to the conversation, be prepared to listen to the alternate opinion, as that doesn’t make you wrong, it makes you a contributor to the solution, and that’s valued.

What are you looking forward to in the next chapter at AS Mosley? I think the coming years at AS Mosley will bring opportunity for personal and professional development, and I am looking forward to working with the team through whatever adventure or challenge that may bring.

One word to describe the last 10 years? Evolving

Well done Kirsten, and good luck in the next chapter!

Work is underway on what will be AS Mosley's new home at Kingswells House

In October 2025, the digger was on site to excavate the north bank and build the foundations for a retaining wall. This will shore up and support the ground containing the ancient Holly hedge which is mentioned in early documents describing the gardens and grounds. Just before Christmas we began work on the wall build; however, progress was delayed due to the severe weather – not least the 18 inches of heavy snow cover. An inconvenience, but also a reminder of just how beautiful this 12-acre site can be throughout the four seasons. The gardens were transformed into a secret Winter Wonderland – right in the heart of the Prime Four Business Park!

Preparations for the access footpath to run alongside the main drive are also underway. As part of this we had to clear the water course to prevent flooding over the path in the lower drive area.

The springs to the Den Burn feed into the water course and further work will be required to prevent back-up during heavy rain. In addition to this, we have moved the oil tank to its new position away from the house. This has enabled us to connect the boiler and fire up the wet heating system. Warmth is an important consideration for these historic buildings and we have managed to stabilise the moisture inside the house to 50%. This is well within the target range 40%-60% for a happy / healthy building. This should improve further when we dig a French drain around the outside of the building and weatherproof the walls.

Renovations to the main house will start in March 2026 when we commence the slating and harling refurbishment. The unsightly garage building will be demolished in February in preparation for these works. New Bathrooms and toilets are being ordered and will be installed after starting the outside works. Internal renovations can then commence – wiring, flooring, finishings and decoration.

Furthermore, we are now working on the contract with the quantity surveyor. The contract will be for the new build extension to replace the garage with an open-plan office. This will be started once we have completed renovations to the house later in the year.

It is good to have all the planning and building warrant issues behind us. For the first time since we purchased Kingswells House in the summer of 2020, we are able to make real progress.

More updates to follow...

After completing an in-depth supplier exercise, involving a desktop assessment, we are very pleased to gain SEQual approval. SEQual is an energy industry portal, that was developed in 2021 to support procurement practices. Although it’s in its infancy, it is already highly regarded by peers, and is fast becoming the ‘go-to’ for procurement for many large players, providing a quality assurance that suppliers are “ready” for deployment, and saving procurement teams time in accessing various documentation individually.

We are proud to have robust management systems in place, which have been designed using specific principles and frameworks to help us meet and exceed various industry standards. These systems played a role in securing the SEQual registration, as well as the many other certificates and accreditations that we hold, including the following:

ISO 9001:2015

ISO 14001:2015

ISO 45001:2018

Achilles FPAL

As many in the industry will know, a huge amount of work, time, and effort is required to obtain each one of these certificates. The output is a few certificates, but the outcome is far greater – the processes and frameworks that these accreditations help us test and challenge makes for a stronger, and more efficient organisation, which we benefit from, but also our clients benefit too. It’s important to us, as a team, to keep investing in our systems for the greater good.

To find out more about our certificates and accreditations click here.

They are supportive of their colleagues and they get on well with those around them. Well done Gordon and Callum, and thank you for all that you do.
Relocation in the pipeline for AS Mosley

After three years of planning and sorting out legal issues, we are delighted to submit a planning application for a new office at Kingswells House, Kingswells. If successful, AS Mosley will be relocated and the new building will play home to our 16 staff, who work a hybrid model with 1 day in the office per week.

Steeped in history, Kingswells House goes back to the 17th century, as was recently reported by the Press and Journal. The building was previously owned by the Summerland Trust after being bequeathed by millionaire, Clark Findlay. The charity later moved out before the building was purchased by director, Andrew Mosley in 2020. The grade B listed building is now in need of major renovation which is required to stop further decay.

Since completion of the sale, Andrew has been working behind the scenes with Lippe Architects to plan the renovation of the building, adding a shiny new extension for the relocation of AS Mosley. If successful at planning, works will start immanently, with the aim of completion over the next 18 months.

Andrew comments: "We've been looking to relocate for some time and been waiting for the right opportunity. Kingswells House is a beautiful location set in 8.5-acres of land, which is ideally positioned for our staff and many of our clients. The house has an interesting story behind it and it will be exciting to see the building brought back to life. It will make an excellent workplace where the old and the new are brought together to create a vibrant space for all."

Planning has now been submitted and the outcome awaits. Watch this space.

Name: Scott West

Job title: Graduate Analysis Engineer

When did you start at AS Mosley: October 2022

Where did you study: Strathclyde University

What is your degree: Master’s in mechanical engineering

Where did you hail from: Oyne

Where do you live now: A small village just outside Inverurie

What attracted you to AS Mosley: I knew from the outset that AS Mosley was going to be a place where I would be able to learn a unique skillset. It was also clear from the start that the company looks after and appreciates its employees.

What do you like about AS Mosley: The workplace atmosphere is very welcoming and everyone has been very friendly and willing to offer their help.

Any dislikes (be honest): Sitting inside all day compared to being an activity instructor and being on my feet all day took a bit of getting used to. It’s fine now and the work is so interesting that the day goes by very quickly.

What would you like to achieve: To be the best person and engineer I can be.

What’s your ideal job: I’m living the dream. An Engineer!

Favourite food: Steak

What sport, if any, do you play: I’ll play and watch just about any sport put in front of me, but at the moment the only sports I play myself with any consistency are golf, playing out of Inverurie Golf Club, and badminton. (When prodded, Scott tells us he plays of a tidy handicap of 7. Good job!).

What are your interests: Sports, tech, engineering and cooking pretty much covers it.

Favourite place: Oyne

Next holiday: Christmas

Will you wear a Christmas jumper this year? Not sure I’ll have much of a choice.
